The Edible Schoolyard NOLA has used Whole Kids Foundation grants to maintain gardens and related curriculum at several local schools: Arthur Ashe Charter School, John Dibert Community School, Joseph S. Clark Preparatory High School, and Langston Hughes Academy.

As an extension of The Edible Schoolyard Project, started by Alice Waters in Berkeley, CA, this well-rounded, learning-focused program integrates gardening with curriculum in the classroom. In addition to providing a garden on each campus (the largest is 1/3 acre) The Edible Schoolyard NOLA also provides student cooking classes and community outreach through tasting events, farmer’s market trips and community garden days.
